Un auténtico museo en Mascota el MUSEO DE ARQUEOLOGIA que ofrece muestras de la historia y la arqueología propias de Mascota. Existen cuatro salas de exhibición, tres de ellas dedicadas a la exposición de piezas recuperadas de la excavación de un panteón con una antigüedad de 800 a.C. en el sitio denominado El Pantano y dos sitios El Embocadero y Coamajales, se exhiben 600 piezas de cerámica, piedra y hueso, las cuales fueron depositadas como ofrendas en algunos de los 160 entierros excavados

Pocos kilómetros al noreste de Mascota se halla la hermosa Laguna de Juanacatlán rodeada por cerros boscosos, sitio incomparable para la pesca donde el tiempo parece detenerse, tiene un espejo de agua de 24 hectareas y 1.5 kilómetros de longitud donde puede gozar del paisaje, fauna silvestre y deportes acuáticos. En el trayecto a este hermoso lago podrá encontrar una de las zonas más ricas en variedades de pinos. Se dice que esta laguna es el cráter de un volcán y que su agua proviene de una corriente subterránea y pequeños veneros.

Museo del Profesor Raúl Rodríguez:
Cuenta con una sala especial dedicada a la actriz mexicana Esther Fernández, estrella de la Época de Oro del Cine, en la que protagonizó películas como “Santa” (no relacion con el gordo vestido en rojo navideno) y “Allá en el Rancho Grande”.
También lo integran seis salas más, una en honor a San José María Robles y al arte religioso, otra a las pinturas de paisajes campiranos de Gilberto Guerra; una sala del Mascota siglo XX, una sala más dedicada a las benefactoras hermanas Curiel, una última expone la cocina de siglos XIX y XX; por último ofrece un pequeño rincón Prehispánico.
